We All Make Mistakes
But, we deserve a better life than one reaped from repetitions of dismissive ignorance.
We can continuously learn how to grow and improve our wellbeing. We can acknowledge our past and press upon redesigning a healthier future for all.
I am terrible at knowing dates and times from American or Global History, but the power of remembering our past is EXACTLY what we need for insights and info to help improve and empower our future.
“Oh man! I forgot my reusable water bottle today at the gym. I’m so thirsty, I know I will definitely be more mindful to remember bringing it next time.”
Must we make the same mistakes, time and time again?
Or can we take hold of the lives that we’ve lived and continue to pursue growth each and every day? I’d like to choose the latter.

😋 Eating a Plant-Based Diet 🌱
Is it safe, and what might you need some help with?
Vitamin B12 – why do you need it, how do we get it? Are we getting enough?
In brief, B12 is crucial nutrient and cofactor for hundreds of biological processes inside the human body. It comes from the earth, like seriously, from microorganisms and bacteria. Natural B12 comes from the earth, the soil, and the animals that we may eat that eat from the soil and plants, which may proliferate B12 producing bacteria inside their bodies.
You can gain trace amounts in mushrooms, but most people who eat a Plant-based diet, especially full vegan eaters will likely become deficient without supplementation.
In addition, there are different forms of B12 formulation including the most common Cyanocobalamin (commonly added to fortified foods) and Methylcobalamin (important for those with the MTHFR gene.
You can take sublingual vitamin B12 supplementation (leave under your tongue) or as a capsule and you can even get monthly injections of Vitamin B12, of worthy potential for those with impaired gastrointestinal health abilities to absorb B12 or maintain consistent levels. People suffering from intestinal/colon issues such as Crohn’s Disease and Colitis as well as Celiac Disease may find it increasingly difficult to maintain adequate Vitamin B12 levels.
My mom for example, takes sublingual daily dose of B12 as well as monthly injections from a nurse at a local pharmacy. About a 5 weeks since her last dose she usually remembers that she’s a week late on her B12 injection and then schedules accordingly because she notices a huge shift in energy, focus, clarity, mood & more.
IF you are eating more Plant-Based and Searching for Quality B12 sources that don’t break the bank, many people simply utilize fortified Nutritional Yeast to support their regular intake of B12. And if you haven’t tried this Cheeeeezy vegan alternative to Parmesan cheese for all things wonderfully effervescent of spinach casserole, broccoli cheddar soup, macaroni and cheese, sprinkled cheesy popcorn dust and more…
I highly encourage you to at least give it a try! I would say like 90% of people I know use the trusted and well-known brand name of Bragg’s, which also offers more than just B12 but a whole host of the complementary B vitamins in each serving.
Nutritional Yeast Seasoning from Bragg's
(commonly called “Newwt” on the street 😉 🧀
If you’re looking for more inspiration for ways to use Nutritional Yeast in the Kitchen, to save the dairy, casein, lactose, and other potential concerns with standard dairy cheese here are some additional recipe tips like Cheese sauce, Popcorn, Cheese Pizza, Parmesan sprinkles, Pasta and Spaghetti, Potatoes, Alfredo, Pesto, and more.

Last but not least, if you’re an active kitchen cook, self-proclaimed home-chef or just looking for more ways to experiment with food, fun, and flavor, I would also love to point you in the direction of using Liquid Amino Acids (hello safer, splendid soy sauce) & Spice and Herb Blends from Bragg’s as well. These 1, 2, 3 items added to your kitchen toolkit can open a whole new world of recipes for you to try in your plant-based health journey.
Check out Bragg's Famous Trio Kit for “Newwt” + Liquid Amino Acids + Spice Blends!
Heck!
These are obviously great for meat eaters too! So feel free to give it a try either way.
Other Nutrients of Interest for Plant-Based Eaters
This deserves a whole month’s of discussion, so I’ll try to touch on this again soon, but you’ll also be curious to look at Vitamin D and Omega-3s for your optimal health as well as possibly Choline, Folate, and Iron depending on your state of health, digestive health, and potential specific needs (such as during pregnancy and breastfeeding).
And as always, it’s best to test to see where you stand as a foundational baseline to see where your overall health stands at the cellular level inside yo beautiful body before ever going too crazy expecting yourself deficient or heavy dosing supplements. BUT, I assume you already know that.

If you can eat it then it must be food then, right? WRONG.

What I’m Tweeting 🐦 and Thinking 🤔 💭
Twitter:
What do you think should be normal?
I’m hoping I can trust, I’m hoping I can stand with confidence and listen without worry or fear. It seems like it’s way too hard to be consciously considering our decisions and tracking and researching.
We need more transparency and honesty in the market. (IMO at least)
What do you think should be normal?
If you can’t tell by now, I like to ask questions, punchy, important questions…
Why do we always so quickly jump to taking the body apart instead of putting it back together or simply preventing it from falling apart in the first place?
Why do we perform insanely expensive procedures to replace joints on potentially poor candidates with little room or time for therapy? What about dangerous and poor QoL outcomes for GI surgeries and other abdominal & weight issues?
Why do we spend thousands to “enhance” our aesthetics, when our beauty lies inside, yet we lie to ourselves believing we have to “fix”ourselves pretty.
If the problems exist within - within the body and within our lifestyles, why do we continue to splice, slice and dice from the outside-in, when we can foster healing from within instead? “Heal the WHOLE person, looking at their WHOLE life.”
What are your favorite things about this planet we share?
Maybe it’s the sun, the stars, a full moon or something more, the sand between our toes, the whistle of the wind or the waving blades of beautiful green grass on a summer’s day… we are surrounded by beauty in this creation.
One Big Planet. One Big Family 💯
