June Updates | Transforming Healthcare as We Know It
Sharing many important details for the summer you don't want to miss!
Hello Friends,
It has been many weeks since I have written. Life has felt like I subscribed to that Automated Self Driving feature provided by Tesla.
Let’s just say things have been moving very
Very Quickly without me even realizing it. I blinked and May went by and now I’m here drifting closer to mid-June!
A’las I am transitioning to the summer season. Some of my updates I will discuss below as I have made several changes in my life, business, and career in the last few months.
☝️ Thing for You to Know Before We Move On 💫
Join My Summer Book Club: “The Mindful Medicine Collective” where we will be reading a wonderful book for women’s health titled “Woman Code” by Alisa Vitti, HHC. I’ll be collaborating with my friend and fellow Health Coach, Noelle Malpeso
Our first meeting starts on Sunday June 16th, at 3-4pm EST
We will also be using a What’s App Chat Room for ongoing discussions between our normal monthly meetings.
You can purchase the Book or Check it Out from Your Local Library.
For your convenience we have included a simple Amazon ordering link here for the paperback version. There are also available Kindle and Audiobook versions (if you’re more likely to listen than you are to read… like me!)
Just as ever, I am relentlessly dedicated to changing the system in which we survive to something in which more people can truly thrive within.
As part of this vocational endeavor, I have solidified my perspective that functional and lifestyle medicine will soon become the very root of primary care - now with a fresh lens in which to finally see and serve people with a root-cause approach to health and medicine.
As we continue to nurture the marketplace with this shared mission, I hope we will continue to unlock the full potential of key collaboration amongst interrelated holistic health professionals, including the likes of traditional chinese medicine, ayurvedic medicine, and more.
The movement continues, much more slowly than I first imagined when I caught these visions about a decade ago.
But here we are - with much momentum that we have gained, and still yet so very much work to be done.
As you likely know by now, I’ve been driven with a mission and a vision to cultivate a better world of health and wellness through access, education, and empowerment ever since helping my mom put her lifelong battle with Crohn’s Disease in remission after her health took a downhill spiral when I was between 15-16 yrs old.
My life was forever changed.
I know what true medicine is. I know what struggle so many have dealt with in our current broken healthcare crisis in America. I’ve seen the tears of frustration from others scared about looming medical debt piling up to amounts beyond many years of their annual salary.
I’ve heard the pain in people’s lungs when they speak up about the absolute tragedy of bias and bigotry, dismissive attitudes and fear mongering they experienced by some traditional care settings that simply made the issues so much worse without any ounce of empathy, grace, or compassion being offered in the direction of the patient.
I’ve been a strong advocate for empathy-driven care models for many many years. We are getting better for sure, but by and large the system that we currently depend on still unequivocally sucks.
If you’ve ever thought for yourself before, there’s gotta be a better way, you would be absolutely correct my friend. There is. And that’s what vision I’m casting and what structure I’m building for, along with many others in the marketplace.
I do not consider “others” as “competitors” unless they employ strategic initiatives to lie to patients, provoke fear-based panicked decision-making by their patients, price gouge, or simply mistreat my people. I have no patience (nor any understanding) for those with maleficent intent.
In business, it is common to call “others” as “competitors” but my heart is not aligned with the concept of competitors.
I believe in the infinite capacity for win-win partnerships with heart-aligned servants supporting our infinitely interconnected needs for symbiotic give-and-take in our communities.
i.e. We need each other.
And there is much need to serve.
We are not competitors but teammates in the same fight for the same mission. The market deserves optionality and we are far - far away from market saturation for meaningful, life-changing, accessible, affordable, holistic health care.
I believe in something many do not yet see and something many cannot even imagine. Quite possibly to a fault, but I cannot shake this internal code of creed that has been written into my DNA.
Perhaps this is why I have always found myself most aligned with mission-driven servant leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Other successful business leaders and those within private equity and sole investing may be most focused on profit margins, which is obviously important. But I have a different lens in which to view the balance of the giant behemoth that is the business of taking care of people well while also doing well as a sustainable business model.
Even though it is incredibly easy for us fickle humans to rationalize pretty much anything we want, I want to forever remain aligned with my values, never to let go of my integrity, never to lose track of my legacy. This is the bloodline that runs through my veins each day and requires me to have absolute alignment in my work and values each week, otherwise I would not be able to follow through.
It is with this mission, vision, and values that I strive to continue to serve you here and elsewhere with content, training, and education to help you live your best lives possible - together in our communities and as individuals.
I have big ideas and have had them for a very long time.
I cannot do it alone, and I have long lists of key collaborators I’d like to bring along for the journey. I’m blessed to have been granted greater capacity to make changes in the marketplace in the last 9-months.
I’ll be sharing more in future weeks and months, as I also continue to show up in service, grow my own private practice, and further expand my abilities to make a better impact with the life I’ve been given.
Thank you for being here.
