Women’s Health, Anxiety, and Restoration - January 30, 2021
"“Behind every great man is an even greater woman.”"
💙 Heart 💙
It’s true, I have a soft spot for caring for women. I think women are such powerful human beings, and largely overlooked by society in so many different ways. It doesn’t take an expert in anthropology or history to note that women have long faced social discrimination and inequities for a very long time. 👎
Which stinks! 🦨
Personally, I know so many “super mom’s “who I think you’re just genuine superheroes. I seriously don’t know how most mothers do it – usually taking care of the whole entire family, nurturing hearts, minds and bodies with holistic nourishment from the inside and out. Without women, we’d be dead, lost, and cold-hearted. 🖤
From the way we look at one another, how we love one another and the way we speak to one another with empathy and genuine compassion and kindness…. There is so much that we reap and learn from the women in our lives. 💡

For all the MEN out there, how are you refilling the cups of women in your life who tend to your needs, who take care of others and are constantly pouring out their time and energy for others? What can we do to help restore, provide rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation to the women in our lives? I encourage you to take a look into the resources and podcasts mentioned below to do some empathetic studying up on the female experience, something that we will never fully be able to experience, but we can definitely inform ourselves more to be better able to understand, empathize, and help navigate through life together.
💌 [maybe a Valentines’ day card, anyone? – remember when we used to hand write loving messages on pink and red construction paper as kids? Maybe we could do that again, and handout some authentic love letters to all of our moms, sisters, daughters, teachers, babysitters, and leaders, and other women superheroes in our lives. 🦸♀️
If you’re a WOMAN reading this, thank you for your overcoming and I’m sorry we’ve long overlooked your esteem, your beauty (on the inside) and your worth as a nation and global society. I want to personally thank you for all the wonderful ways in which you were made and the many unique qualities of yourself that you probably think are little blemishes – a laugh, the shape of a nose, a certain outfit, a mole on the back of the neck, an awkward looking toe, a deformed pinky finger, broken nails, etc. 💅
All of these external signs show no example of your heart, your soul, or your beautiful mind and abilities as a woman. You deserve to be nurtured at least half as well as you nurture others for goodness sakes.
These beautiful idiosyncrasies are nothing to hide from, and that’s a beautiful revelation. We’re all unique, beautiful creatures here on one big planet. Take notice, you’re human – not perfect and perfection is an impossibility.
That’s freedom - not shame. Remember that.

I’ve been binge listening (aka educating myself) to some women’s health podcasts as I continue to dive into hormones, “hormonology,” and many more areas of women’s health such as birth control, female cycling, emotions, acne, eating in line with your cycle, thyroid issues, energy and fatigue roller coasters, estrogen, PREGNANCY, and the lack of informed consent with the medical industry for many female targeted medications, cosmetics, marketed products and more.
Feel free to listen in 🎧 and let me know if you’d like to chat about anything you hear! It’s some fascinating, eye-opening stuff! Here are some of my recent favorites:

🧠 Mind and Spirit ⛪
As I continue to hear people suggest “well, I think I just overthink everything more than others,” I can’t help but wonder… are we all in competition with ourselves or with the world around us, trying to THINK our way through and out of everything?
Why is thinking regarded as something that preludes feelings of anxiety, depression, even sadness and anger?
Maybe we’re thinking too much and not in-tune with our inner hearts, minds, and spirits.
What do you think? 💭
Does being better connected to your inner self help you manage an overactive mind?
Tell me, what causes you to start “overthinking?” 🤔
I recently listened to a great faith-based podcast discussing some things about anxiety, worry, and ways in which we are created to live beyond the angst and irrational instability of overthinking, overwhelming anxiety, and extremist-level of “am I doing everything right?” – we’re humans, we’re imperfect and that’s freedom, not shame.
Personally, I definitely battle perfectionism, anxiety, and we’ve all faced various levels of depression throughout our lives. Challenge brings triumph, and obstacles present opportunities to overcome. ⛰️
