Happy Sunday! How are you doing?
Anything excited you’re looking forward to this season of your life?
Holding on to hope with positivity – like having something to look forward to placed on your calendar can be a really helpful strategy to get through any season. Keep looking forward. Next Week I’m planning to share a few things about ADHD that I don’t believe get enough airtime and most people just don’t get to hear the full story about, let me know if you have any comments on this topic!
This week we’ll be touching on Sugar and Green Washing, Chemicals and Mexico, Drugs and Money.. and more… but first a brief note from me to you! Let me know how you’re doing this week. Looking forward to hearing from you :)
What’s Up?
I’m trying and trialing new ways of communication, new ways to stay connected and to hopefully grow and scale supportive networks of people pursuing health and wellness, peace and compassion, connection, and community. If you have any suggestions, let me know by hitting comment below.
I’m also trying to set forth the next phase of my own means of communication as a human being who hopes to wear my values in full transparency in full display and full transparency for others to 1) connect with 2) learn from and most notably 3) to help shape our lives together. But, if we live our lives in shallow waters, are we ever really in deep connection and togetherness? I’m seeking to serve in a new level of unapologetic authenticity in pure hope to make a better impact in the world around me.
Feelings Inside Ourselves
Do you ever question your existence or your purpose on the planet?
This is a common conversation I end up having with several men I know in my life and would call my friend. I firmly believe we all do have a purposeful service we have the potential to provide to others. Sometimes, our greatest brokenness leads us to find our greatest chance for making great and grand contributions to the world.
These are worthy times for worthy contributions – even something as simple as smiling to a stranger at the grocery store, delivering groceries for your elderly neighbor, taking care of your family members with love at the forefront. We can all make a difference on a daily basis. We don’t need to compare ourselves to bold ambitious global ideas (that may never come true), but rather we can take time to cherish the chance we have to serve one another more locally and more tangibly, possibly even more meaningfully over the long term. Who knows how deep and wide our ripples will extend with just something as simple as a smirk or a smile on the street.
Purpose
Furthermore, I do want to hit on the fact I’m writing to serve and serving to write. I’d like to provide value each week, share ideas, helpful and healthful tips and talking points to help us live our best lives possible – together I should say.
I want to speak on truth and shed light in areas overlooked and misunderstood. And as I stated on Facebook this last week, I still feel that we can learn a lot by focusing on our children.
“Every Child Deserves the Chance to Taste the Infinite Possibilities of Infinite Positivity ”
I definitely believe in the power of positivity and never want to impose or impress upon others any feeling of dystopia or negativity, any signals of somberness due to facing the dire facts. No, we need much more positive energy in this world, right? Likewise, I want you to know a truth of your very own– which is that you have the power to put positive energy into the world too. We can take hold of this opportunity by sharing love and kindness at the most primitive level like we’ve talked about before. Moreover, we can keep on sharing the love and kindness, education, and awareness to others to help them find awareness and peaceful prosperity in their own lives.
In other words, the more we know, the more we can act on and sprint forward with love, asking the right questions of all aspects of our society and seeking further reform and progressive improvements for our lives, livelihoods, and communities at large. So, with all that being said, I’m going to go ahead and share a few things I’ve been reading, listening to, and watching that I’d love to share with you and hear what you think if you have a few minutes of interest and learning and care about any of these topics like I do.
Sugar | Cola | Mexico
In many places throughout Mexico and elsewhere, Coca-Cola has become cheaper than safe, clean drinking water. Over the last few decades, this familiar “gassy sugary soda” has become something of a religious act to drink 1 – 2 Liters per day, used as part of religious ceremonies, and of course everyday drinking needs. And as I’m sure you’re aware, sugary beverages can sure have some strong addictive qualities to them, especially with the absence of clean drinking water, lots of heat, stress, and a genetic line of population hard wired for hydrating real whole food fruits that are so commonly found growing close to the equator.
And this isn’t the first, nor the last time I’ve talked about this issue. I first learned about this growing concern for addiction-chained consumerism in Mexico in 2018-2019 at an international conference of experts, researchers, and other thought leaders, doctors, activists, and cultural ambassadors.
You can catch another powerful film on the issue here, which I try to share with everyone who cares enough to learn – El Susto – the reason why this issue is such a grave conversation is 1) Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Obesity have grown exponentially in Mexico and elsewhere, while their population continues to drink down more and more of this familiar sugary beverage as Coca-Cola brings in more and more profits.
And the even more gruesome issue here is that Coca-Cola has rights to rob local drinking water in the area, extracting the water in the area to craft their famous beverage. I could go on for days due to how impactful this is for their community, culture, and the country of children growing up with a stinking sugary beverage likened to icons and idols we have in America – but worse, this one can actually kill you.

What is “Green Washing” and What Are Its Implications?
Next up, I have an interesting piece about GREENWASHING, which if you’ve never heard about this before 2021, then just know I’m right here with you. It’s been an interesting journey for me to learn more about it myself. It’s often referenced within the beauty and cosmetics industries, but more so recently with bigtime longstanding environmental offenders making pledges for cutting carbon emissions and statements like that that make us feel a bit better about the company and their efforts, while perhaps ignoring the real problem from the beginning.
“Greenwashing is the process of conveying a false impression or providing misleading information about how a company's products are more environmentally sound. Greenwashing is considered an unsubstantiated claim to deceive consumers into believing that a company's products are environmentally friendly.” – Investopedia definition
Take a company that sends chemical pollutants into the water systems and contaminates wildlife habitats and waterways due to their waste products. Let’s say they claim a lofty goal of “change” towards lowering carbon emissions, renewable energy and such, while perpetuating their maleficence upon our water systems with their pollutants. They gained some good press with the media, consumers feel a bit better about them, but we’ve largely been duped and missed the issue entirely. Learn more here for how GreenWashing can be found in many industries, including agriculture.
Chemicals | Poison | Drugs | Money
And on the point of agriculture, I also made this point about Pesticides the other day, as I was hoping to have a deeper, more meaningful conversation on the topic of its large scale use amidst global campaigns to regulate the use of glyphosate, deemed one of the worst man-made chemical creations of our time by many environmental researchers, physicians, and experts in the field. It’s too bad greed and marketing have got in the way and sold us lies along with big chem’s profits.
And talking about chemicals and Mexico, here’s a quick lesson in cheap chemical creations made to make millions of dollars for a select few sellers of more dangerous drugs. Here’s an extremely inside look at the making of fentanyl in Mexico.
And just as a reminder, I’m not here trying to project fear and frustration, worry or anxiety. I’m here for education, awareness and opportunities to make sure we’re all able to make the best informed decisions on how we want to live our lives with awakened hearts and minds.
Stay Well, Stay Blessed, Stay Together.
